The Toyota Celsior UCF20 and UCF21 are iconic 1990s JDM luxury sedans, loved in Australia for their distinctive VIP styling, smooth V8 performance and understated presence. They combine flagship luxury with the appeal of a genuine Japanese-market car.
Powered by Toyota’s renowned 1UZ-FE V8, the Celsior delivers effortless, refined performance. UCF20 and UCF21 share the same core platform and drivetrain, with differences mainly in specification, equipment and trim.
Celsiors were available in A, B and C grades. A models offer a simpler specification, B grades add luxury and convenience features, while C grades sit at the top with the most comprehensive equipment and rear-seat amenities. C-grade models also feature factory air suspension for an exceptionally smooth ride.
For Australian owners, Celsiors are relatively easy to maintain, sharing almost all major mechanical and service parts with the locally available Lexus LS400. Essentially, the Celsior is the cooler JDM version of the LS400, with Japanese-market equipment and unmistakable 90s VIP styling.
With rear-wheel drive, V8 performance, air suspension and timeless styling, the UCF20 and UCF21 remain highly desirable JDM luxury cars.
