IMPORT YOUR DREAM CAR IN 7 EASY STEPS
THE START
To start the process give us a call or fill in our import request form here. Specify your desired car specs and budget. We will get in touch with you to confirm that your car is eligible for import. Once you’re ready to start searching for your dream car pay the initiation deposit of $1250 and sign the import agreement, to begin the process!
VEHICLE MATCHING
Once the import agreement is signed our team will begin the selection process. We will be sending you all the latest listings from auctions and dealers within your request. In this process we will thoroughly assess each listing, providing you with condition report translations, detailed assessments, and photographs to help you find your perfect fit. It is then ultimately your choice which cars you want to bid on, and which once you want to skip, and you will know the exact final price of each car landed and complied in Australia prior to placing any bids.
SECURING THE CAR
Once your bid is successful and the car is secured it needs to be paid for in Japan. This payment is called FOB Japan and includes the price of the car at the auction, our agent fee, and transport together with all the inland costs within Japan. After the car is paid for at the auction it is then picked up and transported to a holding yard in line for shipping.
SHIPPING
Once its time for shipping and all export documentation is prepared you will need to pay for shipping. This covers all the freight costs for delivering the car from Japan to Australia including standard freight insurance. Usually cars ship within one month but if can often take longer depending on ship’s availability. It takes around 2 weeks for the ship to arrive from Japan to Australia.
CUSTOMS
COMPLIANCE
Once released from port the car will be delivered to the compliance or engineering workshop to obtain certification required to be eligible for registration in Australia. The compliance process usually takes from about 10 business days and all compliance costs are included in your final “Landed and Complied” price.
ALL YOURS
Once compliance is ready your new dream car is all yours! We arrange a handover and provide you with a folder of all the documents and certificates for your car that you will need to easily register it in your state. From this point you will need to supply a RWC certificate (or equivalent for your state), arrange an appointment for registration and register the car with Australian number plates. Additionally, our team can assist you with registration of the car and obtaining the RWC certificate as an additional service.
