The Subaru Forester SF5 was offered with naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines, but the S/tb and STI turbo models are the versions most sought after by enthusiasts. They are an attractive JDM import into Australia, combining Subaru performance with the practicality of a five-door, high-riding wagon.
Powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged EJ20 boxer engine and symmetrical AWD, the turbo SF5 delivers strong performance and excellent traction. Both manual and automatic versions were available, making it equally suited to spirited driving or daily use.
The S/tb is the performance-focused turbo model, while the limited-production Forester STI adds upgraded suspension, brakes, wheels and STI-specific equipment.
