FAQ answered

QUESTIONS OUR CLIENTS ASK:

Which cars can we import?

Not every car can be imported into Australia.

To import a car into Australia it needs to be over 25 years old or listed on the Specialist Enthusiast Vehicles list. You can check if your car can be imported here .

If the vehicle is older than 25 years it can be imported without any restrictions.

If you cannot find your car on the list – don’t worry, contact us and we may still be able to import it. Please get in touch with us for more information.

Can you import within specified budget?
Yes. We work within you budget in finding a perfect match within your request, and with us you will know all the costs for the car landed and complied in Australia upfront before you bid on any car!
How long does the import process take?
On average the whole process takes around 5-16 weeks depending on the car’s availability, ship availability, port clearance and compliance workshops certification times. Our team always works around the clock to ensure that you get your car delivered as quickly as possible!
Do I need to pay the whole amount upfront?
No. We offer a convenient stage by stage payment where you don’t have to worry about paying the whole sum upfront, we will only request payments when the fees are due and you will have an official invoice for each stage.
Can I get finance for import?
Yes! We offer in-house finance and have teamed up with best finance brokers to provide you with most convenient financing options. With us you can get finance for the car even before it arrives to Australia.
How do I verify the car’s condition?
Every car goes through several layers of checks including physical inspections while still in Japan. Additionally every car that we source from Japan comes with unique condition report produced by independent mechanical inspectors in Japan. These condition reports include all the accurate information on car’s mechanical condition as well as any body defects up to the finest details like minuscule scratches or untidiness of interior.
Do grades matter?
This is our favourite question here as it is a big missconception amongst many buyers and even some importers. Based on over a decade of experience in the Japanese car market we can confidently say that you should NOT be relying solely on grades, as well as that, they can be very decieving! This is because grades vary from auction to auction. Some auctions are stricter than others. A car at one auction can get a grade of 3.0 while at another auction the same car can be re-listed with a grade of 4.0 This is why we do not support the habit of judjing cars by grades as it can lead to a lot of unwanted surprises. So to sum it up, judjing cars by grades is often a big misconception and if someone tells you otherwise we would suggest to question their competence as there are many great cars with grades below 3 and many bad cars with grades above 3.5. Grades of dealers are also different from auction grades as dealer grades are “self-proclaimed” which means they may grade cars higher in order to sell it quicker.
How accurate are the condition reports?
Condition reports are extremely thorough and accurate on Japanese auctions, and unlike grades they SHOULD work as a guide to your decision on buying a certain car. The report denotes every single detail on the car, its mechanical condition, inspector’s notes, as well as provides you with a “car map” of every panel, showing all paint defects up to the smallest hairline scratch. Auction reports are done by independent mechanics and are very reliable. Dealers howhever often have their own self-proclaimed reports which means it is best to double check the car’s condition thorougly before calling the shots.
