The Subaru Impreza WRX STI GDB Hawkeye combines distinctive rally-inspired styling with turbocharged boxer performance and a six-speed manual gearbox. Introduced in Japan in June 2005, the Hawkeye is the final facelift of the second-generation Impreza, recognised by its sharp headlights and three-part front grille.
Japanese-market Hawkeye STIs use a 2.0-litre turbocharged EJ20 engine, with the regular WRX STI producing 280 PS (206 kW) and 422 Nm. All-wheel drive, Subaru’s Driver’s Control Centre Differential system and a six-speed manual transmission give it an engaging driving character, while the four-door body provides useful everyday practicality.
Variants to know
WRX STI — The core model, combining the 280 PS EJ20 turbo engine with DCCD all-wheel drive, Brembo brakes and a six-speed manual. It offers the familiar STI combination of strong performance, supportive sports seats and distinctive exterior styling.
